Cooking merit badge is required for Eagle. Scouts in this session will be introduced to the principles of cooking that can be used both at home or in the outdoors. Topics covered include food safety, nutritional guidelines, meal planning, and methods of food preparation.
Throughout the week, Scouts will prepare and eat light meals during their session (ingredients and cooking materials will be provided). We recommend that Scouts be at least 13 years of age and have some previous cooking experience in order to participate.
