Scoutmaster Merit Badge

The Raven Knob Scoutmaster Achievement Award, a.k.a. Scoutmaster Merit Badge, recognizes the tremendous contribution adult leaders make to the Camp and the Scouts in attendance. Complete the requirements below, then fill out the appropriate line of your unit's Honor/Merit Troop form to indicate your completion of Scoutmaster Merit Badge. You will receive a special pin in your troop's Friday night checkout packets.

Requirements

Scoutmasters should complete 8 of the following requirements, or complete one of the week-long requirements below.

• Volunteer for at least two hours in the Trading Post

• Assist the Dining Hall staff before, during, or after a meal

• Serve as a Lookout in the Aquatics Area

• Row for the Mile Swim

• Speak to a merit badge session about your profession

• Help prepare the arena for an upcoming campfire

• Drive a vehicle for a field trip or attend with your Scout(s)

  • Aviation

  • Citizenship in the Nation

  • Disc Golf Experience

  • Mountain Biking

• Assist the Ranger staff with trash collection (Tue/Thur)

• Assist the Ranger staff for at least half a day

• Share photos from your week at camp on your social media page by checking in to Raven Knob or tagging our page (Facebook and/or Instagram)

• Other activity approved ahead of time by the Program Director, Head Commissioner, Camp Ranger, or Camp Director

OR a unit leader may complete one of the following week-long options:

• Volunteer to help instruct a merit badge session for the week

• Volunteer in the Raven Scouts Area for the week

• Complete the ARC Lifeguard or Climbing Instructor Level I course

• Assist the Ranger staff throughout the week
