Updates Program Grid --> https://www.ravenknob.com/files/11610/Program-Grid
Day Camper Program Canceled --> After further consultation with medical professionals and due to the low numbers in the Day Camper Program, we have decided to eliminate this program for the summer. We encourage all Day Campers to stay in camp for the Week as a Provisional Scout.
Arrival Time Sign-Up --> In an effort to prevent overcrowding, we are asking that each unit sign up for an arrival time via the Sign-Up Genius Link for your week. Please DO NOT arrive at camp earlier than your arrival time and please let us know if you are running late by emailing email@example.com or calling our Camp Office at (336) 352-4307.
(please email us for your camp week's Sign-Up Genius Link)
Metalwork/Welding MBs --> If you have scouts taking either one of these merit badges, be sure they bring a long-sleeve cotton shirt and a pair of blue jeans for their safety. We have some on hand, but would prefer scouts bring their own. Please do not wear a long-sleeve synthetic material shirt to these sessions.
Folding Chair --> We are encouraging scouts to bring their own folding chair to carry around with them at camp. This will allow them to sit where they would like and properly distance in a session and not be limited to the benches or picnic tables under our shelters.
Water Bottle --> In an effort to stay hydrated and reduce waste, we encourage all scouts and leaders to bring their own reusable water bottle to camp to limit the use of disposable cups in the Dining Hall since we will not be using our normal reusable cups and silverware.
Climing MB --> We encourage scouts in Climbing Merit Badge to bring their own leather gloves to use on the tower, multiple pairs may be needed.
Cloth Masks --> We are asking each youth and adult to bring two cloth masks with them to camp. We are not dicating a time for everyone to wear the masks, but we encourage troops/individuals to wear them when they feel the need, especially inside of buildings.
Boating at Aquatics --> If you have scouts who are taking boating related merit badges in our Aquatics Area, we encourage them to bring their own lifejackets if they are able. We will still have our lifejackets on hand and will be sanitzing in between uses.
Tye Dye Shirts --> We will have tye dying as part of our Twilight Activities in Handicrafts. Feel free to bring a tshirt to tye dye!
Personal Hand Sanitizer --> We also are encouraging scouts and leaders to bring their own bottles of hand sanitizer to carry throughout the day. We will have hand sanitizer available at camp, but this gives individuals the abiity to use it whenever they would like and limit contact.
Last Minute Scouts --> If you have scouts who decide they want to come to camp last minute, please don't discourage them from attending camp. We have a "No Scout Left Behind" mantra at Raven Knob. If you know if scouts in other units who would like to go with yours, that is okay too. We also have our Provisional Scout program which can be found at www.ravenknob.com/provisional. Let other troops in your area know that Camp Raven Knob is open!

Unfortunately, Camp Raven Knob will not be able to operate the ATV Program as planned this summer. This change is due to the cancelation of the training course for our instructors along with delays from the manufacturer due to production layoffs as a result of COVID-19. We encourage scouts who were previously signed up for this program to consider our Climbing Program, Mountain Man Primitive Living Program, and our Shooting Sports Program.

The Old Hickory Council & Raven Knob Staff have decided to delay the beginning of the 2020 Summer Camp Season until July 5, 2020. This requires canceling Cub Resident Camp along with Scouts, BSA weeks 1 & 2. We have re-instated week 7 (Aug. 2-8) to provide more flexibility for troops. If your troop was scheduled for one of the canceled weeks, you will be able to reschedule for the other weeks of camp. Please view the rest of the information posted on the Raven Knob Website at www.ravenknob.com/covid19.

The Old Hickory Council & Raven Knob Staff have been working tirelessly to decide the best course of action for operating camp this summer. Please note that within the next week we will be providing an update on our plan for the 2020 season. Stay tuned to our Facebook page & website for updates.
Also: Please note that on May 5th, Governor Cooper's announcement and release of Phase #1 does include no overnight camping for camps in North Carolina. At this point, this does not affect the plans for the 2020 summer season and regulations for overnight camping will be determined in Phase #2, which is set to take place at the end of May. That decision is being made by the CDC (In conjunction with the American Camp Association) & Governor Roy Cooper.
Camp will remain closed during North Carolina's Phase #1 plan.

With the world experiencing this unprecedented virus and predictions running
rampant, there may be questions regarding Summer Camp at Raven Knob. We
have reviewed this situation and at the present time all are programs are on track
to happen as scheduled for the summer. Of course, we all realize that this
situation is evolving day by day and our plans are subject to change if necessary.
We are working closely with our medical professionals to make sure that all our
participants are in a safe environment while at Raven Knob. As you are packing up
to leave for camp it is imperative that you do a medical screening of each Scout
and adult to make sure that no one is running a fever or other symptoms of the
Corvid-19 virus. If they do, then these individuals will need to stay at home. We
will do another medical screening when you all arrive at camp.
The chances of having to close the camp are remote, but if that were to occur, we
will let you know immediately. In doing so we will give you plans for refunds and
other details. Please check our website and our Facebook page as we move
