Want to energize your camp experience? Rampage offers extreme challenges to Scouts looking beyond merit badge opportunities. If you are a Boy Scout or Venturer over 14 and looking for fast paced action, Rampage is what you are looking for.
After arriving at Raven Knob, your crew will travel to the ten-acre high adventure base camp on the banks of the New River in Virginia. Our base camp provides all the amenities you would expect of summer camp ? platform
tents and great food, plus the sights and sounds of the world?s second oldest river. In addition, the program provides five days exploring challenges including spelunking, climbing, rappelling, kayaking, fly-fishing,
backpacking, hiking and mountain biking adventures.
As a Rampage adventurer, you will spend a full day exploring mountains from above and below. Spelunk through the depths of the earth in dark mountain caves and be energized as you climb a mountain and rappel down.
Spend another day kayaking through the rush of the rapids of the New River. Enjoy nearby waterfalls, or if getting wet isn?t your thing, find a warm, sunny spot on the bank and learn to catch fresh trout as you fly fish the waters.
Interested in the wilderness? We deliver. Take a two-night trek through the Grayson National Highlands, some of the most pristine wilderness this side of the Mississippi River. The Rampage base camp provides easy access
to some of the most beautiful and rugged terrain on the Appalachian Trail. Cooking over a backpacking stove and sleeping under the stars complete your high adventure Appalachian camping experience. And don?t forget mountain biking. That?s included, too.
All this and you?ll still make it to the Wednesday night campfire and enjoy dinner with your families and unit.
With all the adventure in this actionpacked week, what else could you possibly want to do this summer?
This program is focused on adventure more than advancement. However, Boy Scouts will complete Climbing
merit badge. Venturers will complete some requirements for Caving (1c, 2a, 3a, 4a, 7a, 10a) and Mountaineering (3,
4a-b, 6, 7b, 8a-b).
